Tax Exemption
Tax Exempt Status and discounts are offered as a courtesy at the discretion of The Bead Monkey's owner.
To qualify for our discount program the Tax ID number for which your business is registered must be directly related to the design and resale of beaded objects. Items used in jewelry and beaded object design for resale are the only products that we can sell tax exempt.
What are the benefits of registering as a tax exempt customer?
You will receive a courtesy 20% discount in our retail locations and on-line (see below).
MN Residents will not be charged tax in retail locations and on-line (see below).
Out of state customers will receive all discounts but will be charged tax unless the product is shipped out of state.
How do I get a Bead Monkey issued tax exempt card?
Mail, fax or drop off aST3 form from the Minnesota Department of Revenue and a copy of a letter confirming that your business has been registered with the state of Minnesota. Fax - 952-224-0330
If I'm from out of state, can I still get a tax exempt card?
Yes, mail, fax or drop off a Certificate of Exemption form from your state and/or a letter confirming that your business has been registered with your state.
Since The Bead Monkey solely operates from Minnesota we are not required to charge tax to orders shipping out of state through our on-line store. But you must register to receive our courtesy 20% discount.
Since we are a retail operation, and not a wholesaler, our out of state customers will be charged local tax if they are visiting one of our retail locations but the 20% discount will still apply.
Can you honor my tax exempt status in the on line store?
First you must register for a card as instructed above and then create an on-line account. Email with your name, the name of your business and your Tax ID number. We will verify that you are registered with us and change the status of your account to tax exempt. Once you are registered, note this in your on-line order and a courtesy 20% discount will be taken off your order. This is not an automatic discount you must mention it in your order. This discount cannot be used for TRENDSETTERS memberships, gift cards, or class registration fees.
